If you get to feeling a bit overwhelmed, why just check yourself in to the Newbie Wing of the Neil Young Center for the something something -- whatever it's called. Rubber rooms and a safe place to recover! First find out who's cooking, though. I've heard that the possum-tail penne prima vera is to die for.

Welcome to the 'Cat. Its not all nonsense and silliness. Much of the enjoyment here also comes from the tremendous DigiTrad database that's here and the knowledge and research done by the many members who have kept these songs vital and alive. There is also lots of debate, sometimes a bit heated, on a wide variety of topics from politics to religion and even on particular song wordings. But it is the friendliest place you will find on the Net and the mutual repect generally keeps even the most heated discussions within some boundaries.

As for the insanity aspect.......well, you're in the right place for that too. We even operate our own clinic, a treatment facility in Montana, The Neil Young Center for the Terminally Screwed. There are some very strange folks here who seem fixated on a lot of strange things and strange outlooks. Just ignore them if you're offended.

Have fun researching old threads and investigating the who's who aspect of the place. There are pictures, addys, and even a locater at "bbc's Mudcat Resources" which you can access from the "Quick Links" pull down menu. Glad to have you....although being a friend of Sorcha does not put you in good stead. We'll try to overlook it. Tune into Mudcat Radio on Wednesdays too.

Possums do have blue ones-if you have to ask WHAT? you may not be on the right wavelength after all. In case you think this bit of natural history is unrelated to music, I learned it from a song on an album by The Billys, who I think have disbanded, which is too bad.

Just for the record, I do NOT make possum tail stew. (I didn't know they were blue even, so there's proof.) I make a mean pad thai, though, and if Spaw wants some, he'd best watch those rumors.
