A SAILOR IN THE NORTH COUNTRY
A sailor in the north country,
As they were walking out one day,
The captain to his house then he goes,
'To obey the noble Master I will go,
The sailor to his wife then he goes,
As soon as she beard him say so,
The hour and the moment did come,
He had only been gone two days or three
'Your pardon, dear lady,' he cried,
'Oh, are you any lord, duke, or king,
''Twas only one twelve-month ago
Sung by Mrs Verrall, Horsham, Sussex (R.V.W. 1904)
Previous song: The Sailor From Dover.
