Interesting joke:

In Prague, during the Communist days, a Western tourist was impressed by how everyone in the cafes was reading obscure books, talking about the daring theatre scene, the men in the park playing chess at grandmaster level. He turns to his Czech friend sitting beside him and says: "In North America we are all idiots. We watch stupid sitcoms and read People magazine. Why is everyone in your country so intellectual?"
The friend replies: "Motorboats".
The tourist, baffled, says: "Motorboats?"
"Yes," his friend says, "We don't have any."

Jokes about intellectuals and such is it?

There was the foreman taking on labourers at the building site, and this big Irish Bloke comes along. And the foreman think's, I'll try out this one: "Come on Paddfy" he says. "Do you know what the difference is between joists and girders?"

"I do so - wasn't it your man Joyce that wrote Ulysses and that fella Goethe that wrote Faust?"
