Subject: A Debt of Gratitude From: Hardiman the Fiddler Date: 02 Aug 00 - 04:23 PM I'm not sure that "BS" is the right category for this, becuase I mean it sincerely. I am really thankful for the resource that the mudcat is. I may not be here every day, as some are. I may not have time for volumes of correspondance. But the Mudcat is a wonderful resource, and I would like to publically thank those who contribute to this rich musical resource. Hardmian the Fiddler |
Subject: RE: BS: A Debt of Gratitude From: MMario Date: 02 Aug 00 - 04:38 PM So would I. But since I had the good ol' New England, "Let's install some work ethic" up-bringing....I will point out that just about ANYONE can contribute - either to the MudCat or to the Digital Tradition. Did you know there are still 3564 entries in the DT that have not had a tune found in the forum or posted either to the forum or the midi page? If you are capable of midi files, abc files, or have some of the music and could scan it in; if you have noteworthy or a similair product and could transcribe...PLEASE feel free to request the file (updated daily mondays through fridays) OR if you can take the time to double check the entries in the list to identify songs for which the Digital Tradition Already contains tunes and could post a pointer - (in the POST HERE thread.....clickie link you too can request a list. Just want to follow the progress? see this thread

Subject: RE: BS: A Debt of Gratitude From: Peter T. Date: 02 Aug 00 - 04:54 PM Not just that, but a number of DT lyrics could use reediting and small corrections. There is lots of laundry to be done for those who look, as my mother used to say. yours, Peter T. P.S. I agree with the above sentiments. |
Subject: RE: BS: A Debt of Gratitude From: Irish sergeant Date: 03 Aug 00 - 07:54 AM I'd l;ike to echo the above and state Max you're doing one hell of a job and so are the rest who make the mudcat cafe a reality for the rest of us. Neil |
Subject: RE: BS: A Debt of Gratitude From: Catrin Date: 03 Aug 00 - 08:27 AM I'll echo that! mudcat has kept me sane these past few weeks - I've met some really nice people through it as well - and hope to meet more - at the festivals. For me, that's one of the most important things about music, the way it brings people together. Thanks again, Catrin |
Subject: RE: BS: A Debt of Gratitude From: Morticia Date: 03 Aug 00 - 08:36 AM Here, here. I've been off sick for what feels like months now and the Mudcat has proabably saved not only my sanity, but the sanity of those around me as it's stops me whining about being bored every five minutes. |
