Woody Guthrie's "Philadelphia Lawyer" is in DT (click here). Rose Maddox's early recording helped to popularize it.

Joe, thanks for leavng this thread up and handling it as you did. I can imagine a first-time user of the Mudcat being overwhelmed with all the avialble resources that we take for granted, and not knowing how to dial "0" for Operator.

In handling it as you did, you made provision for the Guest to find the lyrics he needed, for several folks to exercise their gracious nature to a newcomer, and for us all to smile at our first tenuous forray into the resource we now so deeply appreciate.

It didn't cost us all that much now, did it?

Right, pj, but when the second person added a lyrics request, I figured it was time to bring out the bright yellow warning flag. We never delete lyrics requests when they come in generic threads like this one - but we sometimes move them to threads to threads with more appropriate titles, and then provide a liink or do domething to make sure the requester can find what happened to his or her request.

Joe, there are always going to be newcomers who don't know what the standard is. What might help a bit is changing the 'Create a New Thread Here' banner on the homepage to 'Post New Requests, or Create a New Thread Here'.
