Subject: RE: AAAARGH!!!! From: Sorcha Date: 13 Aug 00 - 01:01 AM Well, Joe, I kinda guess you could say snakes don't have shells, huh? I definitely have a HEALTHY respect for the suckers, and I won't go hunting them for sure! We have our share here too, and this is a bad year for them (well, good if you look at it from their point of veiw) because it is so hot and dry. They are coming to the rivers for moisture because there has been so little rain. It only seems to rain/lightning when I want to go Hearme............ |
Subject: RE: AAAARGH!!!! From: Joe Offer Date: 13 Aug 00 - 12:51 AM Rattlesnakes. They grow big around here by the American River. I've only seen one in the twenty years I've been here, but it gets bigger every time I talk about it. The people across the street have the river behind them, and they get snakes in their yards a few times a year. I'm glad I live on this side of the street, even though they have a terrific view. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: AAAARGH!!!! From: Bernard Date: 13 Aug 00 - 12:44 AM Negative modifier? Is that like Monosodium Glutamate? |
Subject: RE: AAAARGH!!!! From: Lepus Rex Date: 13 Aug 00 - 12:33 AM I guess heights make me uneasy. I mean out in the open. Planes, tall buildings, etc. don't bother me. Just ledges, roofs, ladders, etc. And I go berserk if I'm held down/locked up. ---Lepus Rex |
Subject: RE: AAAARGH!!!! From: ol'troll Date: 13 Aug 00 - 12:30 AM Yer ok Bernard. Ya had a negative modifier. But watch it, is all. OK. troll |

Subject: RE: AAAARGH!!!! From: Bernard Date: 13 Aug 00 - 12:22 AM English joke: Slug sez to snail: 'Big Issue?' Explanation for you Colonials - The Big Issue is a newspaper sold to help the homeless... I'm frightened of loneliness... |
Subject: RE: AAAARGH!!!! From: GUEST Date: 13 Aug 00 - 12:21 AM bob jr, what about the intelligent, talented people who like Oasis? Scared of us too? |
Subject: RE: AAAARGH!!!! From: bob jr Date: 13 Aug 00 - 12:13 AM i am afraid of ending up in discussions with lame ass idiots who think oasis are a good band! |
Subject: RE: AAAARGH!!!! From: Mbo Date: 13 Aug 00 - 12:07 AM Afraid of heights, anything coming near my eyes, tornados, lightning (but only when I'm outside. Inside it's cooool!), insane drivers that I am CONVINCED are all out to do me in (HA HA!), and the smell of burning motor oil! |
Subject: RE: AAAARGH!!!! From: Sorcha Date: 13 Aug 00 - 12:04 AM slugs, worms or anything without a shell. Snails are fine, they have shells. This one is really bad, because I am a gardner too. I have learned to tolerate worms as long as no one chases me with them, but slugs will put me in the middle of the kitchen table, and Wyoming slugs are REALLY little. I just about lost it reading the Harry Potter book where the boy has a bout of vomiting up.....uh never mind. |
Subject: RE: AAAARGH!!!! From: ol'troll Date: 12 Aug 00 - 11:55 PM Snakes and anything that resembles a snake. This does not include cooked asparagus. troll |
Subject: RE: AAAARGH!!!! From: P05139 Date: 12 Aug 00 - 11:45 PM Thanks for the advice. That's what I'm doing about the spiders. i can now hold little ones but i catch bigger ones in tape cases! I'm still not up to tarantulas yet though! |
Subject: RE: AAAARGH!!!! From: Little Hawk Date: 12 Aug 00 - 11:42 PM Well, I used to be terrified of wasps, hornets, etc. It blighted my youth. I have finally mostly gotten over that...I still don't like them all that much, but I remain calm in their presence now. I have discovered that if you fear anything, it keeps coming into your life again and again and again...until you finally face the fear and put it to rest. So there you are. I'm afraid of flying too, but that doesn't stop me from doing it. |
Subject: AAAARGH!!!! From: P05139 Date: 12 Aug 00 - 11:33 PM What are Mudcatters scared of? I'm terrified of moths, craneflies, heights, bangs, things coming close to my face, thunderstorms etc., but I am managing to conquer my arachnophobia! |
