I know I have seen at least one similar thread on this topic. At one time I was just at guest. Then, oh about a month or so ago, I became a member. Or thought I did. However, when I post a message to a thread, sometimes I am a member and sometimes I am a guest. Can anyone explain why?

Welcome to the Mudcat Robby.

You have lost you cookie. Happens quite a lot. Look up at the top of the screen for "Quick Links". Click on that. Then click on "Reset Cookie" and follow the instructions.

Best Wishes,

Carol

it has to do with cookies, little snippets of information put on your computer to identify you to the site. cookies can 'crumble" or get "eaten" or disappear for a number of reasons. if your cookie gets moldy, then you need to reset it. instructions are in the newcomer teal thread.

Robby, you can go to "Quick Links" at the top of this page, select "Reset Cookie," click on "Go," and take it from there.

You will also need to reset the cookie on EACH machine you use--the computer at home, the one in your office, the one in at your significant other's place, etc. Also, if you use different service providers or different browsers or different user profiles--each user profile in each browser for each service provider has its own cookies file.

--Happy munching on your cookies.
