Okay, so i just got back from holiday, heading towards Ren Faire, but stopping by the Di Rosa museum along the way. Found this poem frag, and found the rest later.

WALLACE STEVENS/THE MAN WITH BLUE GUITAR

The man bent over his guitar,
A shearsman of sorts.
The day was green
The said, "You have a blue guitar, You do not play things as they are
The man replied, "Things as they are, are changed upon the blue guitar
And they said then, "But play, you must, a tune beyond us, yet ourselves
A tune upon the blue guitar, of things exactly as they are"
This was too cool to pass up. Hope others like as much as i do.

I used to keep that poem tucked in the corner of my framed print of Picasso's "The Old Guitarist." I think my daughter has it now.

I believe that I read somewhere that Stevens wrote it based on the picture, but I could be wrong.

As Mbo would say - they both rock.

Was in Washington,DC 5 years ago or so and in The Smithsonian there was an exhibit on this very subject. The most wonderful handmade guitars, classical, flattops, hollow body and electric. All of them were a dreamy shade of blue! Really Cool!

Click here for a web site that has both the painting (a rather grainy image, unfortunately) and the poem.

Thank you, Jim! I thought that it was just a rather short poem. I should've known better, considering who wrote it. Everyone, check out Jims blue clicky thing, it is an awesome piece of poetry. I only posted ONE verse out of six, and condensed at that!
