When I tried to come onto the mudcat site this amI received the following message
Socket Error
Connection refused by Remote Host
So I e-mail Alice who told me to try a different address and lo and behold here I am, but what happened?

I seem to have lost my membership status.......I'm a guest. Does this have something to do with cookies? I remember there was a thread on how to reset them. I have tried to do a search but with no luck. I know the thread is there somewhere - its very frustrating. The other strange thing is that my Personal page remains, but it is also on the upstairs computer?!

Patrish, if you are a Guest, you need to reset your cookie. Details are in the FAQ. I can't understand what you are saying about the Personal pages. If you are not logged on as a member. You should not be able to access them. Do you mean that thy personal page option is showing on the banner? This happens for Guests and members but guests are told that they need to join before having access to the personal pages.

Sometimes I seem to have a partial cookie. I can get into the personal pages, but when I go to post something, I'm signed on as a guest. I have never figured out what's going on with this, but it happens frequently.

Hi, Carol - sounds like maybe you need to clean out your browser cache. I suppose I could compare that to an enema, but maybe I'd better not go there...
Anyhow, go to the FAQ and look in the table of contents for technical advice on membership (or click here). Follow the instructions for clearing your cache, and then logout (delete your cookie) and then reset your cookie.
