The following information comes from the Indiana State University Library at
http://odin.indstate.edu/level1.dir/cml/rbsc/kirk/ps1914.html:

Title: Don't you remember the time?
First Line: Just down the lane, over the stile
Chorus: When the shadows fall, and the stars begin to peep
Music by: Williams, W. R.
Words by: Williams, W. R.
P/P/D: Chicago : Will Rossiter, c1919.
Location: SPC, KIRK PS 1914-1919

It was recorded by Louise Terrell & Charles Hart, whose recording was reissued on "Old Time Victrola Music: Popular Tunes (1920-23) #1". There is a sound sample on this page: http://www.besmark.com/popular3.html - from which I transcribed this:

"When the shadows fall and the stars begin to peep,
When the little birds and the flowers fall asleep,
Memory brings back a picture complete,
Dear little girlie of mine."

It was also recorded by Freeny's Barn Dance Band [Fonzie Cannon on guitar with Leslie & Hendrix Freeny on fiddles] 12/16/30. That recording appears on the 4-CD collection "Roots 'n' Blues: The Retrospective 1925-1950" Columbia/Legacy CD C4K-47911, 1992; on "Mississippi String Bands, Vol. 1: 1928-1935" Document CD 8009, 1997; and on "Traditional Fiddle Music of Mississippi, Vol. 2," County LP 529, 1975. A sound sample at CDNOW was all instrumental.

It was also performed by Red Mountain White Trash on "Chicken's Don't Roost Too High" Whoop It Up CD #102, 1999.

The Freeny's Dance Band recording mentioned above is instrumental throughout. Old-timey vocal recordings included Clayton McMichen and Riley Puckett [Co 15114-D 1927], Mac and Bob (Lester McFarland and Robert Gardner) [Vo 5129 1926] and Callahan Brothers [numerous labels 1934], but none of these seems to have made it to vinyl or tape let alone CD. Someone may have access to these - the Callahan Brothers recording seems to have been available on labels such as Banner, Conqueror, Oriole etc.

From the sheet music at Indiana University: (Click for the PDF file.)

DON'T YOU REMEMBER THE TIME?
Words and music by W. R. Williams*
Chicago: Will Rossiter, copyright 1919.

1. Just down the lane, over the stile,
Under the old oak tree,
There by the stream, we'd plan and dream,
Wonderful things to be.
I used to call you sweetheart of mine,
Don't you remember the time?

CHORUS: When the shadows fall, and the stars begin to peep,
When the little birds, and the flowers fall asleep,
Memory brings back a picture complete,
Dear little girlie of mine.
When the silver moon was a-smiling from above,
I was smiling too, on my only turtle dove,
We were contented for we were in love,
Don't you remember the time?

2. Those were the days, just made for us,
Back in the old home town,
Laughter and song, all the day long,
Nobody wore a frown.
We were so happy, sweetheart of mine,
Don't you remember the time?

[* Attribution from the sheet music. However, the University's catalog lists Will Rossiter as the songwriter. Maybe Williams is a pseudonym for Rossiter?]

The Internet Archive has a playable recording by Louise Terrell and George Wilton Ballard from 1920.
