The music and chords are also in "Songs of the Great American West" (Dover 1995) by Irwin Silber. The chord set is a bit embellised from the ones Joe found so i will include them

I see there is a movie coming out in June about this called "September Dawn," starring Jon Voight and Terence Stamp.

There was also a recent show on PBS "The Mormons" which has some about this, too.
