Subject: Source Req: Erinaco [Hedgehog] From: Haruo Date: 10 Oct 00 - 11:14 AM Anybody know the source (nationality? original language/text? author? English title/text?) of the presumably European-folk song I just posted on my website at http://www.geocities.com/lilandr/kantoj/diversaj/Erinaco1.htm (it's got the melody in the background if that helps, or you can get the MIDI by clicking on the link below the text). The story line runs thusly:

Subject: RE: Source Req: Erinaco [Hedgehog] From: keberoxu Date: 14 Aug 16 - 06:12 PM Haruo, you were around last year, have you left us? This song can be scared up at a Wiki site, although I had to use Google Translate to see what I was looking at. The Wiki site says the folksong tune comes from the Czech Republic. The music is given, and the melody is remarkably simple, a child could easily sing it. But I don't recognize the tune at sight. Perhaps another Mudcatter would know it from somewhere. "Josef Cink" is also cited, but I don't know if he is accountable for words, translation, or what. Herewith, an attempt to link to the MIDI for this tune. Erinaco MIDI |
