Subject: New Photos Posted From: Naemanson Date: 16 Oct 00 - 10:54 PM OK, I finally got off my duff and sent Pene Azul some photos to post for me. You can get a look at me, Roll & Go, and the Chocolate church (click). I had to put the church in there because it means so much to me. Enjoy,

Subject: RE: New Photos Posted From: GUEST,bbc at work Date: 17 Oct 00 - 11:40 AM Hey, Brett, glad to see you *finally* got some photos up! I like that one of Chocolate Church. Reminds me vaguely of some building in Pisa...can't quite think why. : ) Hope to see you again, here or there, before too long. best, bbc |

Subject: RE: New Photos Posted From: Uncle Jaque Date: 17 Oct 00 - 01:41 PM Brett: You have impeccable taste in hats, Sir! If I knew how to post an image here, I might just reciprocate. As an aside, the leg is healing pretty fair, and I'm back to work on regular schedule (about 21 hrs / wk.) at Heritage Lantern. If you have a flexible schedule, you might catch me at home on Tuesdays or Fridays. I don't get out in evenings much, especially if we have to travel much beyond the Brunswick - Portland area. If you can stand our less-than-immaculate quarters (I should be cleaning now rather than doing this) perhaps you can come over some evening (other than Fri.; Fife & Drum rehearsal) and we can annoy (hopefully entertain) the dogs & Ol' Martha for a spell. You've got our number, eh? |

We'll have to talk about the beard though, darlin' . . . ;-) Great pics, for sure. Thanks so much for sharing them with us! -- Áine (ohbestillmythrobbingheart) |

Subject: RE: New Photos Posted From: Naemanson Date: 17 Oct 00 - 10:59 PM White Britches? Aine, darlin', I'm wearing blue in that picture. You must be turned on by the wrong guy. You should be careful because the other guys are all married. Speaking of which, so are you! But you get hugs and the occasional multi-snog anyway. |

Subject: RE: New Photos Posted From: Naemanson Date: 18 Oct 00 - 06:48 AM Officially it is the Chocolate Church Arts Center. We all refer to it as the Chocolate Church. One performer sat on stage and casually commented that he had always heard of the Chocolate Church and wondered what was worshiped there. He thought it might be the God Iva. One fund raiser they have every spring is called Death By Chocolate where local chefs showcase their favorite chocolate recipe. You pay an admission pricce and then tour the room sampling chocolate until you cannot eat any more. Reading back through the posts I see I have to thank Pene for fixing (actually installing) the link to the pictures. I also have to respond to some of the comments. Lonesome EJ we do not yet do G&S. I have done a little on my own time. I have some interesting pictures of me as Don Alhambra (Gondoliers). But Roll & Go mostly does traditional sea chanties. The striped shirts were there when I joined and are a curse I have to put up with. Morticia, thanks for the snog. And here's one back at you. Be careful with those snogs. I don't want you to run out. One of these days I'm going to cross that pond and collect one in person. Praise, I found your comment. Thanks, kid, I need all the nice words I can hear this week. I was going to post an "I need a hug" tread but someone else got to it first. I told my friends in the group about my week and their first comment was "It sucks to be you!" To all: I'm glad you like the pictures. You always take a chance when you post pictures. |

Subject: RE: New Photos Posted From: wysiwyg Date: 18 Oct 00 - 10:23 AM Oh Brett! And it's only Wednesday too. Somehow it helps, in the week I am having, that your group would probably say it sucks to be me, too! I have a GREAT idea. PM me your work number. ~Susan |

Subject: RE: New Photos Posted From: SINSULL Date: 18 Oct 00 - 10:38 AM Love the hat. Love the beard. Now all you need is a banjo and you are the perfect man. Ambien is a sleeping pill. Between you and Spaw I need them. I have a surplus of hugs this week. Help yourself. |

Subject: RE: New Photos Posted From: Mary in Kentucky Date: 19 Oct 00 - 12:17 AM Matt, are you talking about me???? ;-) |
|
Subject: RE: New Photos Posted From: Jeri Date: 19 Oct 00 - 08:45 AM Mary, I think Matt's in one of those passive-agressive moods again, a la "nobody likes me, everybody hates me, think I'll go eat worms." (Well, that's what my parents sang to me whenever I acted like that.) In this case, he was possibly talking about himself, but could just as well have been talking about anyone with new picures up. Think I'll just ignore it. Naemanson, the more I think about it, the more I believe it was you I was standing across from at the festival. Perhaps there are other people who sing shanties in the Portland area and look like you. Hope the rest of your week (and life) go smoother! |

Subject: RE: New Photos Posted From: wysiwyg Date: 19 Oct 00 - 08:57 AM No, I think Matt's bragging in the only way he knows how, so far. Flexing wings. Hopefully. ~S~ |

Subject: RE: New Photos Posted From: wysiwyg Date: 19 Oct 00 - 09:08 AM Oh yeah, and the discerning viewer will note the presence of a live human being with our young friend in one of the photos. Yup. And not a Mudcatter either. ~S~ |

Subject: RE: New Photos Posted From: Jeri Date: 19 Oct 00 - 09:24 AM Can't see another person, but somebody had to take the pictures! I do like the smile! |

Subject: RE: New Photos Posted From: Mary in Kentucky Date: 19 Oct 00 - 05:09 PM Matt knows what I'm talking about. I'm teasing him. |

Subject: RE: New Photos Posted From: Naemanson Date: 19 Oct 00 - 05:44 PM Gee, I went over there to look and saw no picture file for anyone named Loser. I did see some nice pictures under the Matt_R file though. Big grin and chopsticks. need to get you together with one of my ex-girlfriends except that she's old enough to be your mother. But then, I'm old enough to be your father. Funny story about age and friendship. I work with a very diverse group. I am 48. Most of my co-workers are a few years older than I. Some are younger. The youngest are right out of college. We form a tight knit team of friends working together. One of these younger co-workers had been with us for a few years and was very much a part of my own family as well as the office. He was from Massachusetts. One day, about a year after my separation he was worrying about his parents because they were talking about divorcing. I listened for a while, very concerned, and then leaned in and asked, "So tell me more about your mother, is she cute?" That floored him but then he realized that his mother and I are the same age. I wasn't serious, of course, and he knew it. It certainly made him laugh. Wait a minute! Why'd he laugh!?!? BTW, those kids have it tough. In the outside world they would ride on the coat tails of an experienced engineer for several years before assuming a project manager's position. Not in our office. They step through the door right into the deep end of the pool. As military engineers they are not only given hefty responsibility right off the bat but they are given the most difficult jobs to enhance their experience levels. |
