Subject: Your Dark Name... From: GUEST,Peppermint Date: 29 Oct 00 - 08:34 PM What is your dark side name? Start with the first vowel in your first name and trade it with the first vowel in your last name and so on for all the vowels. Extra vowels in your last name can be continued through to your middle name. ex. Joshua Peter MacKay becomes Jashaa Peter MocKuy so the middle name would be dropped. He also has more vowels in his first name than his lat one vowel stays the same. You could do this including y. Thus he becomes Jashay Peter MocKua again dropping the middle name. Wendy Anne Kimper can become either Windy Enne Kempar or Winde Anne Kempyr. Who are are you? I am Kithlain Austin Fatzpetreck Kyra Isis O'Loughlon becomes Koro Usos Y'Laighlin OR Kyro Osus A'Liighlon |

Subject: RE: BS: Your Other Name From: Matt_R Date: 29 Oct 00 - 08:52 PM Yep, I put on my black denim shorts & black Hootie & The Blowfish shirt, my Dad's Sateen USMC cold weather jacket, my sunglasses, flip my medal on the outside of my shirt, do a drop-D tuning on my guitar, and play Creed songs. That's the darkside Matt---ROCKBOY. Big hugs to you, T2T! --ROCKBOY |

Subject: RE: BS: Your Other Name From: Hotspur Date: 29 Oct 00 - 09:04 PM The vowels in my first name and last name are the same, so this doesn't work for me...must mean I'm too virtuous to join the Dark Side. *smirk* |

Subject: RE: BS: Your Other Name From: Thyme2dream Date: 29 Oct 00 - 10:49 PM aww Matt, you're okay...but if you ever come on here espousing the virtues of DISCO,'gangsta rap'or the evil B.Speare-me wench, I'm never 'typing' to you again! thx for hugs too! Thyme (who actually attended ROCKFEST 2000 with her kids and quite enjoyed Nickleback, Mars Electric, 3Doors Down and Godsmack, and thinks Creed songs like 'Arms Wide Open' and 'What If' are awesome...oh and I like that new song by the Wallflowers that isn't really about Sam Cook, too) Well, it is the darkside thread, eh? |

Subject: RE: BS: Your Other Name From: sophocleese Date: 29 Oct 00 - 10:57 PM Aww, nuts in real life I've got too many vowels that are the same maybe I should just be Sephe Cloose, or Sephec Loose(!?) or Eseel Cohpos. |

Subject: RE: BS: Your Other Name From: Matt_R Date: 29 Oct 00 - 10:57 PM Oh no...now I don't like gangsta rap! You know, all those folks at Rockfest 2000...I know their names, but never heard any one their music. Creed is just bloody amazing! My fav song from Human Clay is "Faceless Man"...love that mandolin! And My Own Prison is great too...just listening to it today. "Pity For A Dime" fits it perfectly with ROCKBOY's persona. |

Subject: RE: BS: Your Other Name From: Lonesome EJ Date: 29 Oct 00 - 11:25 PM Matt,I still think the guy from Creed sounds like an Eddy Vedder clone, but the songs are good. |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Your Other Name From: Matt_R Date: 29 Oct 00 - 11:34 PM Well EJ, the voice is part of the genre. Eddy Vedder (Pearl Jam), Chris Cornell (Soundgarden), Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots), all have the same similar sound. Since folks like Creed and Days of The New and Seven Mary Three are grunge influenced bands, it comes with the territory. Heck, I even sing like that when singing grunge-style rock. You wouldn't believe how easy singing like that comes to you. It's very naturalistic, almost basic and primitive. Screw the high-pitched, whiney voices of late 80's hair bands...grunge is as close to a primeval folk sound as rock will get. Especially Days of The New, who are an acoustic grunge-influenced band. |

Subject: RE: BS: Your Other Name From: Thyme2dream Date: 30 Oct 00 - 12:02 AM ooo.Days of the New... I love that really really deep acoustic guitar voice in Down Town. |

Subject: RE: BS: Your Other Name From: Sorcha Date: 30 Oct 00 - 12:48 AM I'm like Praise--DarkSide? I am quite sure I don't want to have a DarkSide name. The DarkSide is quite too close the way it is........I ain't summoning it.........thank you very much. |

Subject: RE: BS: Your Other Name From: Kim C Date: 30 Oct 00 - 12:34 PM I have several other names which I mentioned briefly in the Star Wars thread. Old pals call me Feathers, which is my maiden name (really). Everyday people just call me Kim. But then there's Nadine, who likes big hair and high heels and is a certified Party Girl and once in a while drinks too much to remind herself why she shouldn't. There's Louisa, Miss Sentimental, cries at movies, wears heart on sleeve. MoonPie, Frank Zappa's illegitimate Southern Daughter, craftswoman, musician, erstwhile Earth Mama, likes tattoos. Svetlana is the glamourous one, with her faux leopard cuffs & collar & fur hat. Take your pick! |

Subject: RE: BS: Your Other Name From: Trevor Date: 30 Oct 00 - 01:14 PM I remember reading somewhere, might have been Mary Stewart, that when a cat is just sitting there staring into the fire, he'she is contemplating his/her 'other' name, which only he'she knows. Incidentally, to find out your porn star name take the name of your first paet and your Mum's maiden name. Mine's Rex French - look good on posters? |

Subject: RE: BS: Your Other Name From: wildlone Date: 30 Oct 00 - 01:59 PM Didnt work for me out of the 17 letters in my name only 4 are vowels A I O E so if you use the Y it ends up sounding just the same |

Subject: RE: BS: Your Other Name From: Liz the Squeak Date: 30 Oct 00 - 03:10 PM Mine was so similar that I ended up going for the porn star option, that makes me Pippin Dunford..... I can live with that. But my favorite is the Star Wars one, Elika Holo.... mmmmmm dream on! LTS |
