Gore has 2% lead in Wisconsin and Iowa,Bush the same in Nevada and Oregon.Florida is the nut,and I think the Dade County votes are being held back until the end of the count.

That's "the outcome of the presidential election." "Presidentila" is a nice word, though, don't you think? If we ever get a female President...

So how do we go about dumping the electoral college? I understand it would require a Constitutional Amendment.

Gore wins Colorado. Still ahead 2 percentage points in FLA. Arizona - I missed it.

They predict Republicans retain control of house. Even if split comes out 50/50, which is still possible, tie-breaker will be Republican (either Leiberman's replacement or Cheney, depending on the presidentila outcome.)

If Bush carries the final count, the whole GUMMINT will be Republican... scarey business. Neither house is going to jump Democratic.

This is an unusual election for sure.

I have never seen a race like this -- even at Del Mar!!!

Could this be the beginning of the end of the Two-Party system? Is this the precursor of a new paradigm? In your dreams....

"Saumuré" is pickled in brine. So we can have "le variateur d'ambiance du concombre suamuré" or "le conconbre au vinaigre plus bouché" - but that sounds a bit too lewd. I don't post stuff like that on the internet.

Meanwhile, "saumâtre" means "hard to take."

Someone less pure-minded than I could realy do something with this translation.

I dunno, Amos. The registered Republicans in Florida outnumber the Democrats. It'll be the precincts in Miami, Orlando, and Tampa that'll tell the tale. The rural counties are all very strong for Bush but they should be mostly in by now.
