Subject: RE: BS: Hearme Update From: katlaughing Date: 17 Nov 00 - 07:40 PM I have downloaded and installed it but haven't delved into how it works right now. I don't see how to list my name on it, but we'll see how it goes. kat |

Subject: RE: BS: Hearme Update From: IvanB Date: 17 Nov 00 - 08:03 PM Unfortunately, this appears to be a Eudora Email add-on. You can create groups and invite everybody in the group to a 'conference call,' but you can only have eight contacts in any one group. I have my doubts this is going to solve any problems for us. |

Subject: RE: BS: Hearme Update From: Jon Freeman Date: 17 Nov 00 - 08:14 PM Nor me Ivan but I felt I should make others aware of developments in the Hearme Saga and offer the oppertunity for discussion but my personal feeling is that the PalTalk solution is the best one available to us at the moment. Subject: RE: BS: Hearme Update From: Lyrical Lady Date: 17 Nov 00 - 08:26 PM But Paltalk does not support MacIntosh! I've been asking and looking but haven't found anything yet. Why does the grass always seem greener on the other side? ...LL |

Subject: RE: BS: Hearme Update From: Jon Freeman Date: 17 Nov 00 - 08:35 PM Find us something LL. I'm OK I have a PC... butIknow I would vote in favour of moving if a suitable cross platform product was found and I think that you would find that most, if not all of the PC users here would be more than willing to do the same - I doubt that any of us are really happy in effectively being part of an exclusive club - it's not what folk is about (at least that is the way I see it). Subject: RE: BS: Hearme Update From: Bill D Date: 17 Nov 00 - 09:58 PM when I bought a computer I made a concious decision to avoid the obvious virtues of a MAC because I was convinced that no one was going to write certain programs for it unless it gained a bigger market share...which it will never do if no one writes programs for it! I bought Beta VCR and learned my lesson! (but now, I can't even get PalTalk for some reason///so......) Maybe ICQ, which DID make a cross platform version will jump in and do something...but owned by AOL...who knows |
