Yeah, sure, Emmylou will be there, but JOHN PRINE will too, and I found out about it too late to get tickets to that one (there are now two shows, but he's not part of the second one.)

Tonight I saw and heard Emmylou along with Bruce Cockburn,Mary Chapin Carpenter, Steve Earle, Nanci Griffith at the Palace Theatre in Stamford, CT, USA. It was a benefit; anto-landmine campaign. They were wonderful. The will be in Ottawa tomorrow.

These outstanding performers are comitted to raising the consciousness of the people of the world to the horrors of landmines. Please don't miss their message if they come near you. I was truly moved by their message. They are donating their talent and have been doing so for some time.

They are all on stage together and often add backup vocals and guitar to each other.

This evening was magical and also echoed the underlying ethos of folk music.

Many years ago I hitch-hiked from Edinburgh to London to see Emmylou and it was more than worth it. Miami to Burlington is just too far at my age, but the Flynn Theatre is a superb venue. Saw Doc Watson and Norman Blake there last year ....they were amazing.

While visiting Emmylou Harris's web-site, I found out she has a couple of concert dates in Burlington, VT, at the Flynn Theatre (Dec.6/7?). Any 'Catters going? If so, could you give her a message that Pixie in Nova Scotia, Canada, would be happy to arrange an intimate concert with a very appreciate audience here for here? She can leave the band at home and just bring her beautiful voice and favorite guitar (unless Linda wanted to join her just for fun). Seriously, if anyone is going, please post a post-concert thread to let me know how it was, as it is probably the closest I'll ever get to her!
