My mother remembers this song from her childhood. She asked me to have it sung at her funeral. Any help is appreciated.

My wife has sung this at several funerals for the older folks in the neighborhood. I'll see if she has music - or if she got it from our church organist.

Golly, Dick, you're a few hours too late. Don't usually post what I'm able to find in the DT. The occasion, (see original posting), seemed to warrant a small extra measure of assistance to the questioner. Did CLEARLY STATE that the lyrics were already here, so as not to add to your already-great burdens. Am sorry if any unnecessary duplication of effort befell you.

Assume mere MENTION of a song, without posting lyrics, is still acceptable? Otherwise the "crowd" will eventually thin out to just you and Bruce and Peter and Jon, and no song ever actually recorded or even sung out loud, will be welcome, nu? Th' air could get a mite rare up there, n'est pas, mon frere?

Shula- All is forgiven. IT's just that folks like me, who try to read ALL the threads every day, get buried in extra copies of lyrics. Not to mention the extra load on an already overloaded server. ANYTHING (notes, extra verses, comments) that we don't have is certainly welcomed here. Including Mentions.

The following information is from my wife's copy of the sheet music: words by Jessie Brown Pounds, music by John S. Fearis. Copyright 1964 Larrabee Publications, 263 Veterans Boulevard, Carlstadt, N.J. 07072. My wife bought this a few years ago at Day Murray Music, 4914 So. State, Murray, Utah 84107. [phone]. She says they send music all over the country so if you can't get the music from the publishers anymore, you might try writing or phoning them to see if they still have a copy. If it's out of print, I'll assume the copyright has lapsed and will be glad to attempt to scan it in to a .GIF file or something for you. Email me: [e-mail]. Good luck.
