I am sorry for your "trouble" but such a poet as you will grow from the advesity and the " shadow of the pain will only be memory of a fire once felt as you grow towards yourself" and emerge, in time, renewed. br> I was given the first 2 lines and had to write a complete re-casting as a bardic exercise for my tutor once...to be written to scan in english

Hey man, that sucks. Good luck with the friendship bit. This happened to me last February and I'm still trying to get over it. If you don't mind I'd like to proffer some advice with the hug.

You are entering an area of emotional rollercoastering. You'll be up a few times over the next few months and down more often. Cling to the realization that there are better days ahead. Hold on to yourself for you are the most important person in your universe and you have worth. Let your music convey your emotions and let your heart feel them. As time passes the pain does too but hold on to the good times and appreciate the happiness that she brought into your life. Give yourself the time to grieve but then, after a few months, get back into the race.

Oh, Amergin, what a way to spend the holidays. It's a time of heightened emotions and heightened awareness. I remember being the one doing the dumping at the end of my first major love relationship many years ago (omigosh- over 20!). It's so hard to be on either end, but I'm not trying to minimize the one you are on- it sucks, her timing stinks but you will go into the new year with a new perspective, and absolutely bathed in so many sweet cyber-hugs! I won't say welcome to the club, but you're not alone.

Some of the best advice I got:
1) Alcohol is a depressant. At the very least, never drink alone, and avoid excess.
2) Country music (and some rock genres) deal with the very thing that's depressing you, and will only make you feel worse. Unless you're in a band that plays the stuff, don't listen to it for a while. Even if it's not your cup of tea, the classical station on the radio can be a good thing; non-emotionally charged music that has a tune.

Oh, sorry to hear! Being dumped on the phone is absolutely the worst!

After three years of being all but celibate I had two brief but heartbreaking relationships and one brief (and blessedly chaste) encounter with a flaming asshole this past year!

Some songwriter said it best: Love stinks.

But some other guy said "How silver sweet soud lovers' tongues by night, like softest music to attending ears."

Stay busy and treat yourself well.

If you were in Boston I'd take you on a drinkin' date!
