Hey, I know the lyrics are in the database, but what are the chords, I heard Arlo Guthrie play it last night and knew I had to learn the song. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Rob

I found this setting here (click), but it's not the way I play it. More Like that, stolen to Dave Van Ronk:

(Am)I went down to (E7)old Joe's (Am) barroom (E7),
(Am)On the corner (F) by the (E7) square
(Am)They were serving (E7) the drinks as (F) usual (D),
(F) And the usual (D) crowd was there.

Note: I do not play the third (not sure if this word's correct; "tierce" in french) on the D chord.

SP

And then there's this version. I like the way it sounds:

        Am E7 Am
I was down in Old Joe's Barroom
Am Dm Am E7
On the corner by the square
Am E7 Am
The drinks were served as usual
F7 E7 Am
And the usual crowd was there

Or this modification:

Am E7 Am

Am Fmaj7 Bm7(b5) E7

Am E7 Am

F7 E7 Am Am/E
             or
            Esus
             or
             Dm....your preference.
