Searched the DB for Elizabeth Cotten's Freight Train and by both lyric and title got only STARLIGHT ON THE RAILS by (Bruce Phillips). Whazzup with that? At Mudcat, no less. Anyone have a link or a Word file? Just need words. Send to: [e-mail] and thank you kindly. -Axe'

Should be there as Freight Train in the Digital Traditions Archieves or DT; I did a search under Freight Train*, just in case there was some variation in the spelling but it should come up directly; * = wild card search. Hope that helps.

It's there. It's just that there are lots of others with the string "freight train" in them. Just keep clicking "Next Entire Page" until it comes up. The same thing threw me when I first started using the Digitrad. It apparently searches for the string anywhere, not just in the title.

Hi - we've got "Freight Train" in the Digital Tradition database (click), but we are having search engine problems this weekend. Either that, or maybe you missed the "next entire page" link on the "Starlight on the Rails" page you pulled up. Our engines search for all songs that have the phrase "freight train" in them, so sometimes the first "hit" is not the one you want. The best way to find things at Mudcat is our SuperSearch, but it seems to be down this weekend.

You can save some time by entering [freight train] in the full-text search box. It will display the titles and a phrase or two from each hit; you can click on the one you want to see all the lyrics. For more efficiency, add another word or phrase from the song: [freight train] [bury me deep]
