Subject: RE: BS: Only in Canada (AGAIN)? From: Little Hawk Date: 21 Apr 01 - 06:26 PM "Only in Canada will you find Little Hawk" Not necessarily! At various times I have been found in New York State, numerous other states of the USA, Cuba, Mexico, Hawaii, and so on... Then there were the times when I could not be found at all. However, today I AM in Canada. So today you are right. - LH |
Subject: RE: BS: Only in Canada (AGAIN)? From: CarolC Date: 21 Apr 01 - 01:58 PM Wow, troll. There are just so many ways I could respond to your last five posts. And all of them make me laugh. I just can't choose which one to post... But thanks for the welcome. So that's three of you, then, is it? Is Freddy one of the three, or is he a dissenter? |

Subject: RE: BS: Only in Canada (AGAIN)? From: Troll Date: 21 Apr 01 - 01:31 PM I was going to say that I am glad that the Canadians feel good about themselves because someone needs to, but I decided that that wouldn't be a nice thing to say-even if true- and so I didn't. I admire my restraint. troll |
Subject: RE: BS: Only in Canada (AGAIN)? From: GUEST,willie-o Date: 21 Apr 01 - 12:55 PM the most egregious persistent lie Canadians are told about ourself is that we're humble and self-deprecating compared to our American neighbours. In fact we are downright smug. With good reason, of course. Willie-O |
Subject: RE: BS: Only in Canada (AGAIN)? From: CarolC Date: 21 Apr 01 - 01:10 AM You better be nice, troll. You never know which Canadians might end up living in Florida some day... ;-) |
Subject: RE: BS: Only in Canada (AGAIN)? From: mousethief Date: 21 Apr 01 - 12:51 AM Yes I can't imagine how difficult just living in the world would be if I thought LH could be in more than one place at once! Alex :-) |
Subject: RE: BS: Only in Canada (AGAIN)? From: Troll Date: 21 Apr 01 - 12:50 AM Only in Canada will you find Little Hawk. Which is probably just as well. troll ***BG*** |
Subject: RE: BS: Only in Canada (AGAIN)? From: mousethief Date: 21 Apr 01 - 12:40 AM Green tea has too little taste for my taste. We used to be able to get Twinings loose-leaf here but they stopped selling it. Dunno why. Twits. Alex |
Subject: RE: BS: Only in Canada (AGAIN)? From: Little Hawk Date: 20 Apr 01 - 11:31 PM Yes! Only in Canada! We can never get too much of this subject. I say we try and overhaul and surpass the Bushwhacked series with this one. It's more fun anyway, eh? My recommendation is green tea. It's very good. Ding Hao! - LH |

Subject: RE: BS: Only in Canada (AGAIN)? From: hesperis Date: 19 Apr 01 - 07:23 PM I love summer savoury. (Use it all the thyme!) It's really strange that it gets sold in all the garden outlets, but no-one I know (besides my family) has heard of it... Does it make a good tea? Or would it be too spicy? |
Subject: RE: BS: Only in Canada (AGAIN)? From: gnu Date: 19 Apr 01 - 03:26 PM BC Green, according to Valdy, and you're close enough to get some. What's he doing these days ? Haven't heard a peep about him lately. Saw him in concert one time. What a picker !!! |

Subject: Only in Canada (AGAIN)? From: CarolC Date: 19 Apr 01 - 03:21 PM Well, it was getting kind of long...
Here's the initial post. Most of the rest of the thread was a lovely discussion about tea.
"Brothers and Sisters to the north, this is a sad day for me. I have recently learned some things about Canada that have me deeply troubled.
Canada, home of Dudly Do-right and Ranger Gord. The land of the forthright and brave protectors of correct spelling and perfect grammar. The last bastion of the polite. Defender of all things honest and good. The country I think of as my second home, my ice hut away from home, if you will, has been foisting lies upon its unsuspecting citizens.
Yes, you recoil in horror at the thought, as I did myself, but it's true.
What lies you ask? I'm embarrassed to tell you, but the only way to dispel darkness is to shed some light upon it.
I have learned that for generations, innocent and unsuspecting Canadian citizens have been indoctrinated with the flagrantly untrue tale that Red Rose tea is "Only available in Canada... pity".
And if that's not bad enough, I have also learned that Canada's "World's Biggest Book Store" is, according to my inside source's inside source (ahem... VP Bob), not the world's biggest book store, but in fact the world's third biggest book store.
I'm sorry to have to be the one to break this terrible news to those of you across the border whom I have grown to know and love, almost as family. But there it is.
And now it's time to make a stand! Take up your pens and your righteous indignation and write this wrong (er... right this wrong). Let these shameful liars know you will not stand for such moral turpitude one moment longer! We depend on you Canada. The world depends on you. Don't let us down.
(So how about that dual citizenship? Can I have it, please? Awww... c'mon ...pretty please?)"
Carol
p.s. flattop made me do it.
