Some years ago ( a lot of years ago??) The Plough on Wenlock Edge used to have a folk night. It was such a long time ago that the place has probably turned plastic now, but it could be worth a try. John

Sunday nights - folk programme on local radio around Shropshire. Sorry - can't help with FM numbers as I only ever find it on auto-search when I am travelling past there!

Anyhow, the presenters, Genevieve and (I think) Alan called in our club a couple of weeks back. Lovely people and very knowledgeable on the local folk scene. Try an internet search (Suggest ask.co.uk) about Shropshire local radio - you may find some good stuff.

Cheers

DtG

This might also be of some help, it contains information about gigs and sessions across parts of mid Wales, Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire: Broadsheep

The  West Midlands Folk Federation  may also be of some help.

cresby.com
list in that area though Sheila Mainwaring is the expert for Salop. She publishes "Shreds & Patches"
There is something just north of Leominster but I lost the details (any one?)
the Bell & Talbot on a Sunday night may still do something
and there is always Wolverhampton (owr kid).
Lublow Charlton Arms one Fri or other.
I am not at my database look at my site (FC's & sessions).
surf from there
tell me if I am out of date or you find evenings not listed.
if you see Mrs Lemon (Bishops Castle every 3 Fridays 6 Bells) mention the Lemonade song. She is sort of pleased about it.

I've been to a pub called the Three Horseshoes just a couple or three of miles South of Bridgenorth where there was some rather good singing going on. It was 5-6 years ago and things change, so more local investigation is called for. Good luck with your search! John

It's not my stamping ground any longer, but the folk club at 'The Woodman' in Kingswinford (Fridays) always used to be the best in the West Midlands. Hope it helps.

I will be working in/around Bridgenorth for two weeks from Monday 14th May. Are there any clubs/sessions, say within 20 miles of Bridgenorth, on Monday to Friday (or even Sunday at a pinch)?

JIm
