Both Clinton and Prescott were egged yesterday, Clinton laughed and thought it was funny, Prescott slugged the guy in the face... Just one of thouse things that make you say, Hmmmmmm, any thoughts Sisterin and Bretherin?

Sort of puts the run on the falacy that the UK and Canada are somehow gentler societies than the US. You sure couldn't prove it by the behavior of their elected officials. Chretien put a choke hold on the throat of a protestor who was "in his face" and dropped the guy a couple of years back.

Really hard to teach your children well about settling things by non-violent means, given the examples set by Parliamentarians.

At least Clinton could be called a hands on kind of guy in a different arena.

I wish he'd followed it through with a good right hook ! I don't like a guy that thinks it's smarter to humiliate a man by smashing an egg in his head from point blank range ..... guys like that make genuine protestors jobs harder to win public support.

I think Prescott did the right thing. The "protester" threw the egg from point-blank range into the side of Prescott's face, where it shattered. Now, I know that trhowing an egg is not as damaging as throwing a brick, but where does this guy figure he gets the right to physically assault someone in the street and have it shrugged off as "protest"? I'll bet it hurt, and I'll bet it was startling. I, too, wish he had been able to follow it up with a right cross.

As for Clinton, he took it well, and it's to his credit. Then again, the egg thrown at Clinton barely touched the arm of his suit coat, after which he was surrounded by bodyguards who quickly jumped in between him and his assailant, while the latter was arrested. Prescott had to handle it on his own. Did a good job of it, in my opinion.

The really important questions here are, were those eggs refrigerated or not?...prior to being thrown. And were they washed?
