This is not my creation, but a friend of mine sent this to me, I think you should see it.

Indians Honor America

Although it doesn't show physically, I (as do most Americans) have some American Indian ancestry. Most American cities, states, rivers, lakes and other places have names derived from Indian languages.

Having been to a few Pow-Wows in Indian country (SD), I know they generally begin with a procession honoring God, country, the elders and veterans. Flags including OLD GLORY, the state flag, MIA and others, are prominently displayed.

Please remember the sacrifices of the Patriotic American Indian Veterans whenever you see the flag.

Let's turn that reference around:

"America Honors Indians"
...and see how that flies!

To truly learn more and not use Amerindians to stir the pot of another divisive issue, I would suggest you visit these two sites:

The Highground -Native American Vietnam Veterans Memorial

and,

Native American Women Veterans, through the ages.

There are plenty more where those came from if you really want to honour them.

I was a "Pipe carrier" from the Shoshone/Paiute to the "Highground" several years ago - These folks have my deepest respect.

It rings hollow because it isn't true.
