I saw on Martha Stewart that it's OK for birds to eat rice. Another myth DEBUNKED!! Now popcorn...that's a different story...=) Btw, I sang "God Bless your knees Mrs. Robinson" until last year.

I bought a copy the "The Loved One" years ago and couldn't figure out why, in the short biography of the author, they kept referring to Evelyn Waugh as "he". I think I can be excused for not knowing it's pronounced "eevelyn" and it's a mans name in the UK. For a few days, I kept wondering if maybe everything else I knew was also wrong. Also, I once had a habit of giving people who were trying to put things over on me a look that consisted of lowering one eyebrow and raising the other (Mr. Spock on Star Trek did the same thing). Now my left eyebrow is slightly higher than the right. My mom was right, if you keep making a face, it will stay that way.

Cold water or Aqua Velva (do they still make it?) will close your pores after shaving. Turns out this is nonsense but we used to believe it.
