I got an idea for a song today, Talking Presedential Pronounciaton Blues. If yall could post your favorites, or a website (I've found a few), I'd appreciate it.

Yesterday on the radio, I heard Dubya refer to "the Magna Carter" - something about how these mighty sequoias were already standing when the Magna Carter was signed.

Spaw: What's supposed to happen when you "Play Bushtris"? All I saw was some slowly changing pictures of Bush. Nothing funny in that. I suspect there's some Java script that doesn't work properly on my browser. Darn Netscape! I use Netscape® Communicator 4.61 and I don't think there are any options I can change to fix this.

He came here about 2 months ago, and was at the sport coliseum just 3 miles from me. Some of my friends went and saw him. He said it was great to be here in Greenville, South Carolina. We are in Greenville, NORTH Carolina. But he managed to pass it off with an amused "You got me!"

Just perfect! The National Spelling Bee just came on the tube with an opening statement by Dubya. I don't have it all and it was basically fine except at the beginning where he said,

"Welcome to the National Spelling Bee. Eachuvyaz has worked hard..........."

Hope that's not a word!

Well, perhaps this may be a bit off target, but he was asked by a CBC comedy show correspondant about a continued good relationship with Canadian Prime Minister Poutine. W assured the good relationship would continue with Poutine. Jean Chretien is Canada's PM. Poutine is french fries and cheese, I think, in Quebec. In New Brunswick, poutine is a dish made from ground up potatoes.

Actually, when it was pointed out to a French journalist, how badly Prime Minister Chretien butchered the English language, the journalist laughed and said he was just as incomprehensible in French!

I guess this comes from his being an "oil guy"...but he constantly commits my most hated english mispronounciation...our friend the energy President can't pronounce the word nuclear...he wants to create more nuke-YA-ler pa'ar. Jeez. Grand idea for a song. I've got one cooking about black holes in Alaska...

More interesting, I think, is the way many Down Easterners, one name for those who live long the NE coast of Maine, prounounce HIS name, "Dubba", which at best refers to an inept person trying to pass as human.

From another joke, "Can't fool them Down Easterners."
