I've been looking everywhere to find a song I heard some years ago. The only phrase I know is a part of the refrain: "..the american army, not forgetting the navy and the air force, too..". If anyone could give me a hint I would be very grateful....thx

Well, Mr. Google took me here (click) which I believe is the newspaper of the German Communist Party. From that, I gather that the song is "American Boy Soldier," recorded by the Edgar Broughton Blues Band in 1969.
From there, I hit a dead end. Couldn't find lyrics.

Yeah, Jeri, translation software may help understand the article, but it still won't come up with the stinkin' lyrics. It seems from Web entries that "American Boy Soldier" may have been a relatively well-known song in 1969, but I don't recall it.

Joe: The Edgar Broughton Band was from the UK, which might explain why you don't recall it. (Neither do I.) "American Boy Soldier" appeared on their 1969 album, "Wasa Wasa." I can't find any evidence that it was ever reissued. (And I can't find the lyrics either.)
