I am especialy in Scottish & Irish types that would be appropriate for Ren fairs & colonial times. but wouldn't mind others have you folks any ideas? As always thanks for your help,Charcloth |

Subject: RE: Help: Toasts & blessings From: Sorcha Date: 31 Jul 01 - 11:12 PM Char, it's not really a great skill... just get Google and type in your request. Then, to refine, go to the bottom of the page and hit the Search results button........it's the mind set that is different. Different ways to ask for the same thing....different phrases or combinations of words. |
Subject: RE: Help: Toasts & blessings From: The Walrus Date: 01 Aug 01 - 02:18 PM An old Cavalry toast "Here's to horses and Women...And the men who ride 'em"
Or a toast in four parts (apologies to all Scots for the attempt at writing in accent" May the best time you've ever had be the worst time you will ever see. Walrus |
Subject: RE: Help: Toasts & blessings From: Mrrzy Date: 01 Aug 01 - 02:35 PM I always liked the old May those who love us love us. And those that don't love us, May God turn their hearts. And if He doesn't turn their hearts, May he turn their ankles, So we'll know them by their limping. which I had on a plaque somewhere. It's on that Irish page, thanks, Sorcha. But that is more for a house than a wedding. When I was Best Man at a friends' wedding I tried the old Arab May blessings heap upon you and your children and your children's children and your children's children's children, and Yea unto all the issue of your house, but I didn't get past children's children as I teared all up. |
