Subject: RE: Pictures on Mudcat From: Bill D Date: 25 Aug 01 - 07:33 PM ahhh...ok...it has to be JpegWizard on this page of freeware graphics stuff ...scroll down |
Subject: RE: Pictures on Mudcat From: Justa Picker Date: 25 Aug 01 - 06:07 PM Bill D, A while ago, you provided a link for a Jpeg program (shareware/freeware I believe) where you could resize jpegs without any degradation of quality. Rather than sift through the threads here, any chance you could post the link to that program one more time? (I had it, but lost my bookmarks a while ago, due to a crash and a subsequent reformatting of my backup system.) Thanks, in advance. |
Subject: RE: Pictures on Mudcat From: Bill D Date: 25 Aug 01 - 05:56 PM you 'can' do what you want in Adobe, but they sure make it complicated...*grin*...you open Adobe..click on "get & fix photo" then click 'file open'...and find the picture you want. Then choose the size (as in 50% of the original)..however, *if* you wish to crop (they call it trim), you should do that first. You click on trim, then choose 'any size' in the box and draw a box with the cursor around the part you want and click 'done'. Then see how big it is...at the bottom of the pic, it says it is "x" inches by "y" inches and lists the byte size..5x7 is a good size...under 80,000 bytes is ok usually, but smaller is possible. all this is much easier in some programs, but Adobe is oriented toward commercial sizing and printing and 'leads' you to standard settings... (you 'might' make a copy first to play with, and just mess about... |
Subject: RE: Pictures on Mudcat From: Big Phil Date: 25 Aug 01 - 04:15 PM Thanks Brigie, my pics are viewed on Fuji Fine Pix Viewer or Adobe Photo Deluxe Edition Four, will they do the same as Corel..Phil* |
Subject: RE: Pictures on Mudcat From: Brigie Date: 25 Aug 01 - 04:05 PM HI Phil, I am presuming that when you open a photo on your computer it opens in Corel programme. If so , then you can do whatever you want to it!! Check it out Brigie |

Subject: RE: Pictures on Mudcat From: Bill D Date: 25 Aug 01 - 12:16 PM but, who knows....you may already have some software program that 'would' do the trick. Have you used any graphics program yet? |

Subject: RE: Pictures on Mudcat From: Don Firth Date: 24 Aug 01 - 11:33 PM I presume a similar method would be used with a scanner? I don't have a scanner yet, but I plan to add one soon to the growing heap of contraptions on my desk. Scan a photo into the computer, perform whatever savage rite the manual says, then e-mail it as an attachment . . . right? Don Firth |
Subject: RE: Pictures on Mudcat From: Uncle_DaveO Date: 24 Aug 01 - 11:20 PM (Expanding a little on that suggestion,) I did it this way: Had my wife take a regular film-type picture of me. Took it to a processor (Wal-Mart) who would simultaneously make prints and give me the photos digitally on a CD. Brought it home and accessed it on the CD drive. This processor's CD included software to view the pictures and do some editing, so I cropped it. Then I copied the cropped version to a directory on the hard disk. Then I sent an e-mail to Pene Azul with the photo as an attachment. Simple. Some processors (not Wal-Mart) will make digital versions for you from pre-existing negatives, so you don't HAVE to take new photos for the purpose. Wal-Mart (and some other processors) will only make the digital disk as part of initial development processing. Dave Oesterreich |
Subject: RE: Pictures on Mudcat From: Justa Picker Date: 24 Aug 01 - 04:58 PM Take the photo. Transfer photo to your computer. (Consult your owner's manual for the procedure...but it's very easy.) E-mail Pene Azul (on the Mudcat Resource Page) and use the "attachment" feature in your e-mail program, and select the photo(s) you wish to send to him. Hit SEND on your e-mail program. Done |
Subject: Pictures on Mudcat From: Big Phil Date: 24 Aug 01 - 04:51 PM As a digital camera owner now, how easy is it to get photo's on the Mudcat..As a complete novice, would it be too difficult.... |
