There is something in the back of my head that says that they did have PEL problems in the past, or was that Ringwood?

The problem is not the MP - it is the particular Council.

And a bigger problem is that some herbert, when putting up the dates on the website has allowed (presumbly thanks to MicroSoft) the American dating convention to apply.

The Swanage Festival is in September, not August !!!!

Sorry I did not spot it myself untill I was checking my diary to see if I could attend.

BTW Many years ago as a junior clerk in the City I recieved a full blown reprimand for drafting a telex to the US of A giving a date in the XX/XX/XX format.
(Shouted) You bloody idiot - how the hell do you ecpect the Yanks to understand that - they will read it backwards !!!!"
Telex ?? - that shows how long ago it wwas. - Ah ! Fred Dyos, now deceased, a damn fine manager.

Gareth

Beware long traffic delays if travelling to or from Swanage on a warm September weekend . . But do stop off at the National Trust tea shop at Corfe Castle . . our favorite tea shop in the world . .

G.

Just waiting excitedly for a program throught the post! :¬D

". . But do stop off at the National Trust tea shop at Corfe Castle . . our favorite tea shop in the world . . "

might not be such a good Idea this yr. The castle has an "archeology weekend" garla thing going on @ the same time. (& the steam railways up to somthing to) Purbecks going to be mighty busy!!! & that's on top of the usual weekend beach traffic!

Thanks, Lizabee - found it! & thanks for the travel warnings - maybe I'll have to set out a little earlier in the morning from Herts to make sure I'm there in time. After all, I'm meant to be hosting the open sesh in Shades, so I guess it would only be polite to actually be there. Come and say 'hullo'. I'll be the nervous looking guy...

Well, that's done it. Looks like I'm hooked on festivals now. I just had a hugely fantastic time. So much so, that I'm still buzzing. And I'm still so full of it that I've diarised it here

If I might be so bold as to quote a friend's e-mail which arrived seconds ago...

"what a great weekend - wish I could have got there earlier in the day.
George [his son] really enjoyed it, much more than I thought he would. He thought Kate Rusby "amazing! - and quite a good looker, too!" and is also now a firm fan of yours. As we walked back to the tent we tried to recall Kate's songs but the best we could manage was "Hometown" which always degenerated into "Remember you're a Womble" when we got to the chorus. Mind you on Sunday all we could hear at home was George singing "I got banana's, watermelon, peaches by the pound etc." [the long, complicated chorus to my opening song]
Sat by the speakers, we couldn't hear anything of the crowd singing, but the noise at the end of "Tear stained letter" was tremendous - well done.
Anyway it's in the diary for next year but I think I'll make a weekend of it."

Still buzzin'

Twas a great week end, Thx Hamish for a great lunchtime / afternoon sesion. I whould of come on last night to say this but I didn't get home till about 10 & had to get up early this morn for College!I'm now Zonked & ready to sleep for the next two months! but what with having to go back down to swanage to MOT the car tomorow, College Wed, Folk club Thu & a meeting on Fri, I'll have to do my Zommbie impresion for a while longer!

Can't wait till next yr. I'd say the dates in my diary, but as it only runs till Aug thats not posible.

I'm talking drivvle now I know so I'll just go......

P.S. practicing my newly aquired Bodhran skills (I did the workshops @ Swanage) @ 8:20 am sat in the car in Bournemouth got more than a few funny looks, but when you need to travel early to miss the trafic, you gota use up the empty time the other end some how. I think I might make it a regular thing.

Cos I'm a sorta shyish perplexed lokking girl I guess, & I meant to introduce my self as lizabee, but Lizzy came out instead out of habit. I seem to use lizzy more when my parent/s are about I guess.

looks like you're heading for hibernation after the 5th oct. so im not impressed with your manager, or is it you need a rest to gear yourself up for swanage 02. I agree, over exposure has to be guarded against. will Lzzb be coming on the 5th oct? you can come, everybody's welcome. we start this fri 14th. sept. c.u.
