Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Liz the Squeak Date: 16 Oct 01 - 07:37 AM Snuffy - that's brilliant - I must confess that I've not paid any attention to the songs going round in my head, because I've had trouble with an abscess but now I'm on the antibiotics, it's getting better. But you beat me to it with Brons' song.... Trevor - I'm sorry, I'm terrible with names. Yours, Manitas |

Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: MudGuard Date: 16 Oct 01 - 04:38 AM Now - as promised - after a good night's sleep, more from me! First of all: a BIG THANKYOU to Bron for organizing Llanstock 2001. And another BIG THANKYOU to all the musicians for all the good music. I really enjoyed all of it! Thanks for putting up with me! Of course, Liz, another BIG THANKYOU to you for bringing me to Llanfair (and back to London also). I now know where the last part of your Mudcat name comes from! I hope to get a replacement for my damaged right ear in about two and a half months - on New Ear's Eve ;-) Sam and Bill: I put the "Bridging the Gap" CD on first thing this morning, it is great! After work I will give the Windy Bottom one a go! Now, as some football trainer once said: after the game is before the (next) game! Bron, please book me into the trailer for next year. Liz, please book the passenger seat of your car for me for next year. Ickledorritt (spelling?), good news from the doctor, he said I might be able to walk again by the time of the next Llanstock, maybe even without a limp... ;-)

Subject: Add: She drove to Llanfair From: Snuffy Date: 16 Oct 01 - 03:31 AM My young love said to me, "Are you sure you don't mind If I'm gone for the weekend, and you're left behind?" Then she threw her arms round me, and this she did say, "It will not be long, love. I'll be back on Sunday." Then she got in the mini, and she drove to Llanfair, To meet all the 'Catters who were gathering there. They sang and they drank, and they ate lots of cake And at three in the morning they were all still awake. Last night I lay sleeping. My mobile it rang. And proudly she told me the songs that she sang. "I'm not coming home love," she to me did say "I'm off to see Micca at the Getaway."

Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: John Routledge Date: 15 Oct 01 - 06:28 PM APPETITE WETTER - Seems a good time to say that following discussions with Bill Sables some while ago re a NATIONAL MUDCAT GATHERING I have looked at possibilities re renting an entire Youth Hostel for exclusive Mudcat use. If we get a full hostel cost will be approx £7.50 per person for 2 nights ie £3.75 pnight! Will post fuller details in a couple of days but could be Feb 2002 in LLangollen or Lake District. There is nothing suitable further South. Cheers John

Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Liz the Squeak Date: 15 Oct 01 - 06:24 PM I've got the disk in the machine, easy to copy to C drive, how do I get them to a site everyone can see? LTS |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Noreen Date: 15 Oct 01 - 06:19 PM Or put it in the scanner and copy the disc into your hard drive... Or if you want to separate the pictures, take a Stanley knife to the disc... sections about the size of a postage stamp should do... (Sorry, it's been a long and hard day- bashed in the front of my car on the way home tonight- don't know yet if it'll be a write-off. I should have stayed in Wales...) Noreen |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Liz the Squeak Date: 15 Oct 01 - 06:19 PM Micca, how can I talk to you when you aren't answering your phone!! LTS |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Micca Date: 15 Oct 01 - 06:13 PM Liz, talk to me, I have space on my photo site.. |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Noreen Date: 15 Oct 01 - 06:11 PM You need to hold the disc up to the monitor, Liz, so that it can see it... then ask it nicely... |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Liz the Squeak Date: 15 Oct 01 - 06:03 PM Sausages - are in the fridge, will investigate their edibility tomorrow. Couldn't face it today! Am now on anitibiotics so the swelling is going down slowly. Still having trouble eating, so am sticking to stuff like chocolate that melts. Maltesers are good, so are dragon droppings. Don't ask. Found the disk, now how do I set them up so you can all see? LTS |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Noreen Date: 15 Oct 01 - 05:55 PM Thank you for letting us know, Andreas, I was wondering today how you were getting on. We appreciate you travelling all that way- you made a great contribution to the weekend. Ickle would have had no-one to kick if you'd not been reclining at her feet... :0) Which tunes are you learning on the whistle for the next gathering? Noreen ...If ever I meet you by land or by sea, |

Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: lady penelope Date: 15 Oct 01 - 04:07 PM All these naked men wandering about!! What do I get? An over excited poodle, female! ( But a very nice poodle, I must say ). Now as to the sausages, did they actually get eaten? Are they still in the back of Liz's car? And I was assured that CMOT Dibbler had nothing to do with them! They were supposed to be honey roast pork chipolatas, smoked pork with tomato+garlic+something and chicken with walnut and spring onion. I only managed to post today as Parker tried to load up ntl world stuff and wiped out all my cookies! Morty, I got in just after 9, no problem. how's the kitten? Has she got a name yet? I'm off to look at the photos ( which I will add to once I figure out how to! ) TTFN M'Lady P. |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Noreen Date: 15 Oct 01 - 02:44 PM Now you know why so many wanted a place in the trailer... |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Mrs.Duck Date: 15 Oct 01 - 02:10 PM Unfortunately some of the photos were just too dark to send including the one of the sheep sh---ing contest!!!The naked men kept turning the other cheek and most of the action Pippins seemed to be under the duvet and I couldn't get a decent shot!!!!*G* |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Morticia Date: 15 Oct 01 - 12:39 PM Well, Bron..everytime I went into the garden at Pippins a naked man would emerge from the trailer....Diva wants me to hold a workshop on it next year.Strange to tell, I'm driving along with my son and telling him about it this afternoon and blow me if a naked man doesn't appear at a window right next to the car door....guess it's not just Llanfair after all...whoopeeee!! |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Llanfair Date: 15 Oct 01 - 12:18 PM Morty!!! Naked man??? where? WHERE????? How come I missed all the best bits? Cheers, Bron (Just woken up after ANOTHER nap!!!) |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Trevor Date: 15 Oct 01 - 09:36 AM Snuffy, my voice doesn't have that range. Most people put the capo on their guitar - mine was down me trews! |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Liz the Squeak Date: 15 Oct 01 - 09:33 AM Have just sent MudGuard off on his way home, and I'm off to the dentist later.... Sorry I missed the Saturday evening.... but the bratling and I just flaked out! If you think Clementine was loud and long, you should have been in the car with us on the way home when they played 'Zadok the Priest'! I have pictures too, just as soon as I can remember where the disk is!! LTS |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Snuffy Date: 15 Oct 01 - 09:12 AM Trevor, You'll find the words on this thread Lyr Req: Bogie's Bonny Belle. Ignore the defective set of words posted from memory in May 2000, use those from 28 Sept this year. WassaiL! V PS - loved you "She moves though the fair" - wish my voice would stretch that far! |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Morticia Date: 15 Oct 01 - 08:55 AM Well, I wandered out into the garden this morning hoping for a glimpse of another naked man......must only work in Llanfair.....damn, damn, damn..... |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Trevor Date: 15 Oct 01 - 08:35 AM Thanks for a great time, although it sounds like we missed the best bits. Your ears may still be ringing from 'Clementine' Matthew - I've had a headache ever since - oxygen deprivation I reckon. What is this circular breathing anyway - I was breathing through my ears! Snuffy, where might I find the words to the song about the bogies? And next time, hit the tap HARD! |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: alanww Date: 15 Oct 01 - 04:59 AM Brilliant weekend and brilliant pictures of it too! All other UK Mudcatters should be sad that they missed it and make sure that they can make the next one ... Thanks everyone for making it so memorable - particularly Llanfair, of course! Having started off the singing on Friday night with the Cadgwith Anthem, every time I sing it from now on I shall think of Llanstock 2 ... See you all soon I hope. Come fill up your glasses and let us be merry ... ,br> Alan |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: GUEST,micca at work Date: 15 Oct 01 - 04:51 AM Well, what can I say???? Huge thanks to Bron and all her "little helpers" special thanks to Julia and the staff at Pippins for looking after a bunch of itinerent folkies as if we were " conventional folk"!!! The singing and Music was wonderful.. and esp the final sing in the Insitiute on Saturday night!!! everyone should expierence such singing at least once in their lives!!!!, I will carry that with me forever!!! Pure magic...just all of it !!! and yes, Bron did get a few chances to sing!!! and very, very nicely,,, Thank you Bron, and everyone who sang or played in the singarounds, I thank you for your support and tolerence of my somewhat eccentric way of doing things.. now , back to trying to figure out the questions of Mrs Duck and the Maltesers!!! |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: Llanfair Date: 15 Oct 01 - 04:20 AM Yes, John, I did lots of singing, but I'm not much of a dancer, so I sat in the "no dancing" zone with Mudguard! Aren't the pictures wonderful!! Cheers, Bron. (who is taking it easy today!!) |
Subject: RE: Llanstock 2 the conclusion From: John J Date: 15 Oct 01 - 04:15 AM Just a thought Bron.....You spent all that time and effort getting Llanstock II sorted, did you get chance for a sing and a dance? John |
