Subject: Lyric - Jerry Jeff Walker From: GUEST,GB Date: 22 Dec 01 - 01:54 AM Hi! I'm looking for the lyrics to a song Jerry Jeff Walker performed in the late 60's and, I believe, wrote. I don't know the title, but it started, as I remember, "A soldier rides on a train to Tennessee, and half–asleep he dreams what isn't a dream; with each step of the wheels on steel another face goes by, with each face that he loves he turns and sighs; and he's headed home, he's headed home; back to where it all began, back to find his life again." I've never been able to find a recording of it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Subject: Lyr/Chords Add: SOME GO HOME (THE TRAIN SONG) From: Genie Date: 22 Dec 01 - 04:19 AM Some Go Home (The Train Song) (Jerry Jeff Walker) D C G Am7 Three rows back, a young woman looks out the train. And she's headed home, yeah, Em A D I sit half drunk in the dining car and I observe life. 'Cause I got no home, no, no, But the woman is met by her husband there at the station, And I can't go on, no, no, That train keeps moving on down the line But for me it's never free out there, Go on down the line, down the line, down the line.
