Just stumbled across a memory from 1960s UK TV and the theme for "The Adventures of Robinson Crusoe," composed by Robert Mellin and Gian-Piero Reverberi.
The tune has a nice rolling (chantey-like?)rhythm: probably just a waltz though.

Just wondering if anyone has found any folk connections to the melody, or added words to it.
Cheers,
Maybe see ya'll in NYC on 19 Jan...
Brian

An interesting question. Where do we find the melody?

The web site has a download -- careful, it is addictive!

Oo-er; I've just been transported back 35 years!
Amazing how music has that ability - I clicked on the sample for the intro and was back in my parent's sitting room, procrastinating about doing my homework because I wanted to watch Robinson Crusoe.
Eat your heart out, Proust - the Mudcat beats any madeleine!

Help! I can hear this in my head, but I can't get the download! Did I ask about this in the 'Playschool' thread, or is this synchronicity? Weird!

Aside from the music, the story of the actual man who was Robinson Crusoe is written up in der Spiegel, with pictures of his little island off the coast of Chile.
