Lyr/Chords Req: Song about old Truck

I remember a song I think by Tom T. Hall in which he goes out to a farm and buys an old truck .The truck is in the pig pen and a dog chases and bites him. Bout all I can remember. Can anyone help???? Jeep

Oh! Here I thought this thread was a request for a song about an "old pick" for a guitar!

Now I get it! You originally typed "old pickup" as in the Subject line on your first post, not "old pick" as in the thread title! I've run into that problem, too (having the tail end of my thread title cut off because of the prefix), and I'm learning to count my available letter-spaces before I post a new thread!

Jeep, I suggest that you post to the Help Forum and ask them to change the title of your thread ("Lyr/Chords Req: Song about buying old pickup" or "Lyr/Chords Req: Song about buying old truck" should do the trick!) (just take out the word "an"). Then I'm sure you'll get the responses you're looking for. Good luck!

Jim, there is a complete discography of Tom T here! See if you can recognize a title and come tell us. Not all the titles have lyrics posted though.

Jeepman,

are you thinking about "The Want Ad," by C.W. McCall?

He's the same one who did "Convoy" and "Wolf Creek Pass" using the same style of recitation. I checked Cowpie and Convoy is the only one of his songs they have on file. I don't have to time search other sources right now, but will get back to you later in the evening if you don't find it.
