Subject: Looking for Mudcatter Talents From: hesperis Date: 21 Jan 02 - 04:44 PM Hiya! As some of you know already, I've been working on creating a website to sell CDs and compilation CDs, among other things like books, etc. So, if your music or your life is based in Spirituality of some sort, preferably some kind of Earth Spirituality, please contact me to see if we can make a deal. Preferred genres are World Music, New Age, Meditational, Celtic and other Trad Folk. (Other genres and types of Spirituality are welcome as well. *g*) Original music or public domain music only. If you don't have a CD yet, but have a few mp3s up somewhere, that's ok too, as I am looking for material for the compilations.
If you have a CD, you can either send me one, or rip a few mp3s and send them to me. The site will be re-opening on Feb 1st, and I'd like a little more product than what I have now. And I'd like to feature Mudcatter talent!!! Also looking for free articles on spiritual topics, free poetry, books to sell, heart-crafted items to sell... if you do something from the heart, and are looking for a marketplace for it, contact me! The site is: www.Serpent-Goddess.com

Subject: RE: Looking for Mudcatter CDs From: hesperis Date: 25 Jan 02 - 12:09 AM Thanks for the replies, guys! INOBU - Yes, Sorcha Dorcha is a very cool band. Is it at sorchadorcha.com? I'll refresh my memory of the exact sound to see if it's the way I remember. You guys definitely deserve a link though! Great Celtic band. (And I'm glad you're starting to attract the dedicated talent you want to partner with you on it!) Jim - Not quite sure if that's the type of sound I'm looking for. I did enjoy your music a lot, but I'm looking for something a bit more "magical". More like the Loreena McKennit type of Celtic-folk than the older "acoustic storyteller" stuff. However, I will definitely give you a link, cause it's good stuff! Reminded me of good family times with music, just hanging out and singing, and enjoying life. (I just don't see how to fit your stuff in with the mood/energy of the compilation that I have floating in my head right now. So hopefully for a later one.) I've had so many replies to my requests (on other forums) for uplifting spiritual poetry, that I'm going to be VERY busy going through them all! Whoa! I was not expecting this flood of replies! This is great! |

Subject: RE: Looking for Mudcatter CDs From: Uncle Jaque Date: 25 Jan 02 - 02:25 PM Posted earlier on my first CD project - pretty much an amature venture, although friends & family members tell me that they like it. It was never intended to be much more than a "demo", but we do have a couple of original compositions in it which might be considered "Spiritual" in nature.
Thanx for the tips on MP-3; I've been wanting to do that in order to share some of the tracks with folks without having to pay postage to ship a CD. Have downloaded a couple of programs which might be able to do that, when & if I ever figure out how to use 'em.
Making the CD was, to a 19th Century kinda guy, a very enlightening experience, to say the least! Would love to try it again some time, when & if we can afford it - hopefully with some backup / collaborating Artists to give it depth, authenticity, and perhaps direction. Working as "backup" to a more experienced Musician or group would be great experience too, methinks... but no one is asking, and I'm not holding my breath! Good luck on your project! Keeping our "day job" in Maine - Uncle J. |
