Subject: RE: After Stony Stratfird From: Liz the Squeak Date: 13 Feb 02 - 08:23 PM It is a sort of reworking of camoflage net, but it is a new poem, called 'I can't find my invisibility cloak' and is the latest book, 'Boogie woogie beagle boy from Company B', by the great Mr Les (Why aren't I Poet Laureate) Barker. I read it in the Bull on Sunday lunchtime, when we were told off for singing. LTS |

Subject: RE: After Stony Stratfird From: Liz the Squeak Date: 13 Feb 02 - 08:50 PM Still no takers for the other raffle tickets.... I'm 5 prizes up (one of them a Bert Hansell CD) and the rest all drinkable or eatable, and I didn't even buy a ticket! I see that my comments are mean and uncalled for, yet GUEST can post on regardless... Hmmm.... something a bit off there, don't you think? I leave you to think about that one. LTS |
Subject: RE: After Stony Stratfird From: Ella who is Sooze Date: 14 Feb 02 - 03:54 AM ahh. Gareth no problem.. Or rather Dim problem... By the way did anyone else try that cider in the fox and hounds (the cloudy stuff). Well, it had me bouncing off the wall after one (descretely though - I managed to mask the fact I was almost half gone) but did you see what the stuff did to the tables? Within less than one minute of putting down the cider glass, it stained the table white as some cider had tipped out.... OH DEAR! E |
Subject: RE: After Stony Stratfird From: The_one_and_only_Dai Date: 14 Feb 02 - 04:01 AM You mean you actually drank it? Blimey Ella, we use it for keeping weeds down... didn't you read the pump clip? ;-) |

Subject: RE: After Stony Stratfird From: GUEST,Pete Twitchett Date: 18 Jan 03 - 05:13 PM Yes...Dave Bryant is right..I did write the final verse, but Dave's memory is a little shaky to the words. That listed doesn't scan! I wrote it 'coz the song didn't seem to have an ending. The verse is.. All of a sudden in the firemen rushed And they saved us one by one! But when they came to save the beer, They found it had all gone! And in the daily press next day They solomly* did say That they could not save the beer 'coz it had boiled away! (Spoken) But we know better don't we! Final chorus *Doesn't look as if it's spelled right does it! Best wishes, Pete |
