Subject: RE: Lyr. Req.: Derwentwater´s Farewell From: Barry Finn Date: 17 Mar 98 - 07:24 PM Do a search under the title. Great song don't know how the Corries did it, got a version from hearing Lou Killen doing it at least 15yrs back. Lou recorded it on his LP,"Louis Killen- Old Songs, Old Friends", on the Front Hall label in 1977. Some other notes aside from what's in the DT from his LP jacket-"The farewell of James Radcliffe, 3rd Earl of Derwentwater, before his execution in 1716 in London for his treason of supporting James Stuart's bid for the throne in 1715 (Jacobite) uprising". Subject: RE: Lyr. Req.: Derwentwater´s Farewell From: Pejotka Date: 19 Mar 98 - 06:29 PM Hallo, Susan. I thought that I´d tried this before, but I must have made a mistake. Now I´ve got it. Thank you Hello Barry, thanks for your letter. I like Lous Killen´s natural way of singing folksongs and I´m going to look for this CD. The Corries-version is on a CD: The very best of The Corries (EMI from 1990) |
