After the song was done, one elderly gentleman stood up and claimed HE wrote it! I will see if I can get more info..(that is who it was, and whether they thought he sounded sincere and such..verification of these things is not always easy) |

I got it from my parents and their Appalachian Mountain Club (New York Chapter) canoeing friends. Digitrad has more verses than I got from them, though! Anyone have any information (or good speculations) on the origins/age of this song? ~ Becky in Tucson |
