hi.....I learned all 72 verses of this song about 5 years ago and subsequently lost the casette and my handwritten copy of the lyrics (don't ever move house !!). I can remember about 20 verses and would love to get a copy of the rest ........any ideas ?

Afraid i haven got a copy of that truly excellent song, but i would like to direct you to the current thread on what to do if you forget the words of a song (cant do blue clickies, sorry). As a matter of interest, have you ever succeeded in singing it right through without mistake?

Yes I am aware that they are incorrect, That is what I acknowledged at my last post in the thread linked above. I will when I get the time complet the song in the correct order.

Donal (or anybody). Could you enlighten me. Was Brian O'Rourke responsible also for the devastating parody of Willy McBride which i heard a while ago. I rather resent the power of the man's pen (if it was him) because i used to seriously admire the original, but now i can't hear it without shaking with repressed laughter.

No, I don't think so...I think the Willy McBride parody was written by a Cork guy (can't remember the name). could be wrong though !!

Sounds like you're thinking of Con O'Driscoll, who has written some very funny songs alright. But - the Willie McBride parody was written by a Northerner called Crawford Howard, with later additions from another Northerner, Fintan Vallely.
