Do you just want to sort out how the Major Key scales fit onto the 12-tone scale ? If so, cut two vertical strips from a lined pad.

Mark the first one:

A
A#/Bb
B
C
C#/Db
D
D#/Eb
E
F
F#/Gb
G
G#/Ab

A
A#/Bb
B
C
C#/Db
D
D#/Eb
E
F
F#/Gb
G
G#/Ab



And the other (you need the blank lines):

Doh

Ray

Me
Fah

Soh

Lah

Te
Doh


Just place the top "Doh" entry of the second one against the tonic note (of the required key) on the second and you can read off the notes and see where the sharps/flats occur.

Sorry, there shouldn't be a gap between the octaves in the middle of strip one (any JOEclones out there ?)

You can easily cut and paste into an EXCEL table of keys.

Even better, copy and paste the following text (use notepad or similiar) into a file named SCALES.CSV, then try opening it with EXCEL.
