Subject: Banjo tone ring From: GUEST,emorygrove Date: 18 Mar 02 - 12:48 PM Can someone explain the tone ring on a banjo, where it is and what it is? From what I've gathered, some have them and some don't. Thanks |

Subject: RE: Banjo tone ring From: Mark Ross Date: 18 Mar 02 - 01:34 PM The tone ring sits on top of the rim. Look inside your banjo(if you are one of us poor, befuddled banjo pickers). It sits inside right under the head, made of brass or some other heavy metal. It increases the volume and the tone.
