Subject: Anyone know this song? From: GUEST,pred286 Date: 28 Apr 02 - 12:11 AM I am just wondering if anyone knows these lyrics: The song is late 70's early 80's, it's got a bit of a funky beat, maybe a bit of R&B as well. It goes "Livin in the ....?, It's a put(or maybe "turn") on". I know it's not alot to go on at all, but maybe I'll get lucky. It is a pretty well known tune. Thanks alot!!! |

Subject: Lyr Add: EMINENCE FRONT (The Who / Pete Townshend) From: michaelr Date: 28 Apr 02 - 12:33 PM If it says "It's a put-on" it must be the Who's "Eminence Front", which is indeed a put-on: they purposely recorded it so that the words "eminence front" sound like a number of other words, including "baby let's f**k". Hmm - an intentional mondegreen? Here are the words: "Eminence Front" (Pete Townsend) The 1 shines And people forget The spray flies as the speedboat glides And people forget Forget they're hiding The girls smile And people forget The snow packs as the skier tracks And people forget Forget they're hiding. Behind an eminence front Eminence front - It's a put on. Come on join the party Dress to kill Won't you come and join the party Dress to kill. The drinks flow People forget That big wheel spins, the hair thins People forget Forget they're hiding The news slows People forget The shares crash, hopes are dashed People forget Forget they're hiding. Behind an eminence front Eminence front - it's a put on Come on join the party Dress to Come on join the party Dress to Come on join the party Dress to Come on join the party Dress to kill Dress yourself, dressed to kill.
