Camp Town ladies sing this song

Doo-dah, doo-dah

Camp town race track's five miles long

Oh doo-dah day!

Going to run all night, Going to run all day,

Bet my money on a bob tail nag,

Somebody bet on the day.

OOPS! I gave you the lyrics before, and I made a little error!

The last line is

Somebody bet on the BAY

not Somebody bet on the DAY

Sorry!

The version in the DT is only partly correct. The lyrics as first published in 1850 are given in the site I gave a clickie for (above) and in thread 22289: Camptown
