Subject: RE: Violin/ fiddle cases From: bet Date: 15 Feb 05 - 12:17 AM Thanks! Codfiddler, those look like really great cases. Would mind having one of their backpacks either. Mrs. Duck, great idea I hadn't thought about e-bay. I guess the cold is getting to me. However it's warm tonight +15 F. It's suppose to get cold again though. bet |
Subject: RE: Violin/ fiddle cases From: Mrs.Duck Date: 11 Feb 05 - 04:45 PM I bought one for Geoff on ebay which is as you described. Cost me around £55 including delivery. |
Subject: RE: Violin/ fiddle cases From: Cod Fiddler Date: 11 Feb 05 - 05:31 AM Have a look at: http://www.ritter-bags.com/uk/product.php?p=64 Ritter Outdoor make really nice violin case carriers, which are well padded and well made. They would keep your fiddle snug. |
Subject: RE: Violin/ fiddle cases From: bet Date: 10 Feb 05 - 11:08 PM This winter I discoverd the need to protect my violin with more than just a good case. I have been wrapping my violin and case in an old sleeping bag to protect it from the cold. Several times I have left the house for rehearsal or performance when the temp outside is -25, -30, as low as -50 F. Do any of you know about the insulated, over the case bags? I found one in 123 Music but don't really know anythng about them. bet |
Subject: RE: Violin/ fiddle cases From: Cod Fiddler Date: 10 Feb 05 - 01:42 PM I just bought one for an amazing £38. I Have to say I do not think it is indestructible but it seems tough enough, light compact and well made. The nice thing is that it is made out of sustainable and eco friendly materials. Even if it biodegrades within a few months, for that price, it is worth it! Unfortunately, I can't remember the details. I'll try and find out. |

Subject: Violin/ fiddle cases From: pinkfiddle Date: 21 May 02 - 09:51 AM A couple of years ago I saw someone at a festival with a black violin case. It was quite futuristic looking and appeared to be made out of plastic or maybe fibreglass. I also remember that it had plastic snap shut fasteners which could only be opened when the case was flat not upright. It was quite light and had ruck sack straps. I would really like to get one and was wondering if anyone knows what I'm talking about and where I could buy one from? preferably in the UK pf |
