Ritter Outdoor make really nice violin case carriers, which are well padded and well made. They would keep your fiddle snug.

This winter I discoverd the need to protect my violin with more than just a good case. I have been wrapping my violin and case in an old sleeping bag to protect it from the cold. Several times I have left the house for rehearsal or performance when the temp outside is
-25, -30, as low as -50 F. Do any of you know about the insulated, over the case bags? I found one in 123 Music but don't really know anythng about them. bet

I just bought one for an amazing £38. I Have to say I do not think it is indestructible but it seems tough enough, light compact and well made. The nice thing is that it is made out of sustainable and eco friendly materials. Even if it biodegrades within a few months, for that price, it is worth it! Unfortunately, I can't remember the details. I'll try and find out.

the new fibreglass oblong cases from Bobelock in Pa. are coming in April--i received a first one in white and sold an hour later! Virtually indestructable, i demonstrated by standing on it with violin inside--they are a bit futuristic but tone down nicely in black or royal blue--best Jaeger style bail latches clamp down securely-equiped with backpack removable straps, 4 bowholders, gorgeous quilted blue or burgundy or green velvet--coming in at $450 with a 30% discount for prepaid orders. no pic's yet. My case sounds very like that. I got it cheap bcos the shop couldn't shift them - I don't know why, it's excellent. I'll see what brand it is, and let you know.

A couple of years ago I saw someone at a festival with a black violin case. It was quite futuristic looking and appeared to be made out of plastic or maybe fibreglass. I also remember that it had plastic snap shut fasteners which could only be opened when the case was flat not upright. It was quite light and had ruck sack straps. I would really like to get one and was wondering if anyone knows what I'm talking about and where I could buy one from? preferably in the UK
