Subject: RE: OBIT: Leo McKern - RIP From: Lanfranc Date: 23 Jul 02 - 06:47 PM The quote that I liked from Leo McKern, I'm not sure whether it was as himself or as Rumpole, was something along the lines of: "There is not a single pleasure in life that is worth abstaining from to gain an extra six months in a nursing home in Worthing." Carpe diem! So often these days glamour seems to be all that is needed for success. Leo McKern didn't need glamour, he had wit and talent. Now those qualities are even rarer. May the libations flow freely wherever he now resides. Alan
