Heard some of the tracks, and a review of Bruce the Bosses latest offering. Tackles some daring subjects and the old E street band sound as good as ever, but he's a bit like Gordon Lightfoot inasmuch as you can tell it's one his songs 1/2 a bar in. Wish he would be a bit more adventurous musically.

Well, Giok, when you're riding a wave of popularity it's easier to be adventurous. That's why he did Nebraska when he did it. Right now, its time to make the payment on the manor house, and my guess is Bruce is going back to what he knows works.

I'm looking forward to hearing the CD in it's entirety because the folks who choose the cuts to be aired are probably listening too much for the old E street Band sound, because it's safe. My favorite Bruce soungs have never gotten much if any air time, starting with "Mary, Queen of Arkansas" from his "Greetings" LP to "Big Muddy" or "Book of Dreams" on the "Lucky Town" CD. Of course, "Nebraska" was real popular with folkies because it was filled with non-airable, non commercial songs. And I may be wrong, but I don't think the CD has been released as yet so I'll reserve judgement until after I've heard the entire offering.
