Well helloooooo ladies and gentlemen. Bin here 2 secs and I already have my own thread!! Wehey!! Royal treatment indeed. I wonder if this will descend into the drivel pool. We already have the hamster here.

Went to Goxhill last night for the first time. Nice little do that. Must pay it a visit again sometime and stay a little longer next time.

The axeman cometh. Regularly, I'm told! Welcome Peter. Good to see you at Goxhill last night. We were surprised the serfs on the village gate let through a Hell's Angel 9or probably Angle), but they're used to strange musician types, and the village idiot who refuses to join the 'Cat

Gary, rebranded by jOhn from Hull.

Sireen, how the buggery bollocks do you do turn black electric writing into red electric writing?

Aha, this is something that Sireens know and small hairy farmers have no need of...

but come with me, young man, and I'll show you...

Help! I am being enchanted by the powers of Sireen, to dash myself on the rocks again. I'm going to fetch Doug if she dosn't stop it. And then she can look out.

When can we expect to see you at the Hase session then? You passed the Hessle to get to Goxhill so I know its within striking distance for you. Oh, all right then, since you won't be led astray, clever stuff like changing colour and size

of text, silly

can be found in the very useful Mudcat FAQ - Newcomer's Guide which sits happily atop the thread list, just as I sit atop my sparkling supermarket trolley, or more directly: Basic Mudcat HTML.

If you want to change font colour to red, you would put

<font color=red>
before your text, and </font> after your text.
(We must spell it the American way, because computers don't recognise the word colour with a u, and reject the instruction.)

Noreen the Sireen

Goxhill still going - must have been more than 5 years since I went. The pub then was not so cute but it served.

Welcome Deanmeister, and greetings to the entire population of Hull (who seem to be here already) from up the way in Middlesbrough where I seem to be the only member!
Maybe I should relocate to Hull?.........

I kinda thought that, Noreen.  Just wanted to check.

So, welcome, axeman DeanMeister!

Oakley, if you use Netscape, there's an easier way to do streak strikethroughs, boldface, italics, coloursblinking type, etc.  Compose and format your post in Netscape Composer, then go to "Source" view  and cut out your post --from the first letter to the last (not the HTML code before and after that part) -- and paste that
into the post box in the Mudcat thread.  It will preserve your formatting, and you don't need to hand type all the HTML code.   (I don't know if Explorer has a similar option.)

Genie

Genie, thanks for that. How do you find out if you use a Netscape? It doesn't really matter now that I have received an even more colourful and stricken-through message than Sireen's. I will stare at it again once I've hit the submit button.

It's ok to hijack this thread. John in Hull will be along at 1 am to do much worse to it involving bannanannas, wheelie bins, birclays bank9 and popaddums. Please feel free to carry on here. I know DeanMeister would appreciate it. It's Doug's threads where you have run the risk of being told off.

Let's try that again.   (Obviously, I'm a relative novice at this.)

If I type something like this,

Welcome Chez Mudcat,
DeanMeister

in Composer, and I go to to the "Page Source" view, it's got all sorts of HTML code around my text.  I just cut from the paragraph code right before my first word to
the exclamation point at the end, and paste that here, and I get the fancy-schmancy post above.

(Maybe a clone will zap the screwed up post.)

Goxhill, Ferriby, Hull X 1,000,000 mentions. All this Humberside talk is making me homesick. Welcome Deanmeister and I hope you enjoy yasen like (Grimsby dialect creeping in there) all the best from the fB.

I think Wooton got a few as well along the way. If me and Gary get released in time, there may be a purple helmet or two showing at the Nag's Head on Sunday night.
