Subject: Ar Log - Still going? From: Dave the Gnome Date: 02 Aug 02 - 02:25 PM Just heard a fabulous track by a Welsh band called 'Ar Log'. I have found references saying they still tour Wales but I could noy find any more. Anyone know if they are still going and if so where I can see them? Cheers Dave the Gnome |

Subject: RE: Help: Ar Log - Still going? From: GUEST,Chris/Darwin Date: 03 Aug 02 - 07:52 AM Dave I bought their first LP about 20 years ago and loved it, and thought they disappeared. However, just did a Google search, and found they are up to Ar Log V - admittedly as tapes, with last date 1991. However, might be worth a purchase!

Subject: RE: Help: Ar Log - Still going? From: sian, west wales Date: 06 Aug 02 - 05:56 AM Ar Log really only get together for the odd 'reunion' kind of concert these days. I think they did one last summer at ... Sesiwn Farw Dolgellau? Sain has brought out a CD which, if memory serves, combines the Ar Log I-V albums. I'm not sure what the 'core' members are now doing - I think a couple of them at least are producers at the BBC in Cardiff. Stephen Rees who played with them for a few seasons is now Chair of trac and a member of the group Crasdant (and lecturer at UWBangor). Iolo, who has also been a member, is still around and about. But Ar Log hasn't brought out an album or toured regularly in yonks. And this week they are, as Nigel said, probably all at the Eisteddfod. If you're interested in other 'old stager' groups, look for Mynediad am Ddim. Same category. sian |
