Subject: Namungeons? From: GUEST,JTT Date: 07 Aug 02 - 12:17 PM I read years ago about a group of people who were descended from pre-Columban Syrians - I think Elvis was supposed to be one. They were called something like 'Namungeon', but I can't find anything online. Am I spelling it wrong or something? |

Subject: RE: BS: Namungeons? From: GUEST,JTT Date: 07 Aug 02 - 12:30 PM Ummm... as I remember, when Columbus and de boys were wandering around they (or maybe it was some later whiteys) met these Indians who said they were Europeans, and spoke Arabic. Or something like that. I vaguely remember that when the beginnings of genetic testing were being done in the 1980s some time, descendents of these guys - somewhere in or around Louisiana? - were tested and found in fact to have gene types (?) from North Africa/Middle East, somewhere like that. |
